ocz 4200 platinum or corsairs 4400? - Page 3

sry im in the middle of OCin... lol im lookin now...

do you want a 2gb set or a 1 gb set?

the pc 4200 looks good to me, the only thing i dont like about them is that they are 512mb sticks.... if it were 1gb sticks ide say yes... but your better off getting 2gb of ram nowadays... so im gonna stick with my original suggestions... but if you really only want i gb of ram then i have no complaints about the ram your lookin at...

either the gskill extreme 2gb set, or the ocz platinum 2gb set...

well ya, thats what i said, they are only in 1gb kits for the PC4200, so im sayin, get 2gb kit of PC4000, and oc it to 4200 speeds... or more! but honestly you wont notice a difference between the pc4200 and the pc4000... and i bet if you could find that 4200, itd be kinda pricey for a 1gb kit... the 2gb kits from ocz and gskill that are both pc4000 are only $175!!! quite a deal if you ask me...

i found the 4200 ocz 533 $210 and the 4000 ocz 500 $280 they both look great the difference as you mentioned is 4200 2x512 & 4000 2x1024. are there any games that require 2 gig's? do you or anyone else think i can get by with 1gig for a good while? this 4200 533mhz platinum 2x512 lifetime guaranteed up to 3.0v for $210 has me dreaming about how it'll perform with my 3700 sd especially since i'm upgrading my vga to the asus 7800 gtx top... humm

dude by the way thanks luk with ur oc

im making my purchase this week i can use all the feedback i get. in the past the input i get from u guys weighs heavily on my desicions

Yeah, it is settings for the A8N32-SLI, but most likely those timings would work on most others.
I have a pair of OCZ PC-3200 Platinum Rev.2 modules and I've had them up to 270MHz.
