asus update dosnt recognize my mobo?

Im trying to update to the latest bios cause I think my temp readings and some otherstuff needs to be fixed so i try the asus update and it say something about restarting something and dosnt recognize a asus board so it aborts update.... anyone else getting this?

Start at post #17

Critical!! You MUST update your chipset to version 6.65 prior to flashing your BIOS. If you do not do this, then the flash will fail mid-way through the process ruining your MOBO. There is no recovery other than RMA'ing your MOBO to Asus.

lol i actually went and reformated the whole pc just to update the bios cause i figure there was a missing registry or something :/ but anyways that would have save me alot of time .... on another note after updating my bios to 1011 i noticed a very slow xp startup compared to 1009 .... anyone else getting this?

Did you set you drives in the BIOS or are they on "Auto" ... designating drives will improve boot times.
