Geforce6200v expert vision-keep it or sling it?

Hello people hows it going, just wondered if anyone has any views on this card 6200 256mb xpert vision, i have a radeon 9800 pro 128mb in my other machine and it is only slightly poorer, or can anyone suggest a agp card for gaming thats not going to break the bank.
Any info on this would be appreciated,

well the 6200's arent much of a card... toos it or sell it,do whatever you want with it... then look into getting a geforce 6800gs...very afordable and im asuming you have an AGP slot... so the agp version 6800gs' unlock 4 more pipes,1 more pixel shader and overclock pretty well ontop of that! and the cost about 180usd...

yeah its abit poor really, i only paid about 50 quid for it so it wasnt that bad i just needed one to get the machine running, you reckon i should put the radeon back in for now, whats the temp threshold for the radeon do you know at all?

i would say yes, put the radeon back in... i bet they are almost identical in perfomance even though the radeon is much older...lol

im not sure the threshold of the radeons gpu, so play it safe and keep it under 75-80c load

so what kinda budget you have for a new card?

ill be looking at about 100 or maybe 150 or something, ive just seen a 6600gt 256mb agp *8 for £120, yeah the radeon is only slighty poorer, but it is on the standard drivers. so this could be upgraded, also does it really make that much of a difference with using geforce or a radeon with an amd processor?
yeah i think when i get back from work ill stick the 9800 back in and get some new drivers for it.

for agp get a sapphire x1600pro 256mb gddr2 12 pipes 500/800 for 125 or the 512 versopn for 140. the 6600gt is also good but if you have more get the 6800gs
post #7 of 14
well im really gonna push the 6800gs because its an awesome deal of a card!... so if you need to do a little more saving, then do so,that radeon will hold you off for a while actually.... you COULD even wait untill the new DX10 cards come out that are gonna be amazing!

and as far as i know there is not any performance gain using an ATI vs Nvidia card in an AMD system...

Uh, it's softmodding the 9800Pro to an XT. I would recommend the 6800GS because it can unlock to a full 16/6 (agp version)
