get the 6800gs, it can be unlocked to a 6800ultra and then OCed to ultra speeds, which is what i have done and is incredibly easy....it will save you about $50-60

and you can unlock the 9800 to an xt, not to an x850...lol thats insanity if you could,but you cant because they have totally different cores

yeah im gonna get the 6800gs but for the mean time im gonna mod the 9800 just to see if i can, then when ive got the 6800 i have a spare card, well ill have two spare cards but one sucks ass.

yeah sorry man just got mixed up with the modd, ive been reading about too much stuff.while working at the same time, pfft, ill get there in the end, cheers for the info,so that gs version is highly clockable then.
