Ahh, everybody still has that access, the tasks and another section is removed after the test has finished.

So no one was able to keep these units? Bummer.

they asked for mine back 2 or 3 weeks after retail.

Now let Me clear up one thing, the first page mentions getting to keep the product or getting a discount for testing it, this is totally un-true, you receive nothing for your testing, just the pleasure of testing new kit.

You would have received an email from them asking for it back, testers have never been allowed to keep the beta units ( was t-shirts last test). I suggest emailing the beta test support manager and organizing for the system to go back.
^indeed. I was expecting an "incentive" as they put it (it's somewhere in one of the agreements) but no. Maybe i didn't contribute enough.

Of course not. Companies don't give $1000+ computers out for no reason.

When you click on the Dell logo at the top left of the screen, it doesn't bring you to any URL, which doesn't fit in very well with the layout of most corporate websites.

I would be happy to be proven wrong here, but given the evidence and overall feel of this whole web page, I wouldn't recommend feeding it an email address or going any further.

I think the fact that many of us have received computers sort of advocates the legitimacy of the beta test...

There's been plenty of people posting here that have confirmed its legitimacy. The URL was also registered and is owned by Dell.

This still seems a little fishy. I will have to bring this up with my friend or his boss.
