dial up - Page 2

I too am stuck in the boonies with slow dial up. I have tried them all and most are about the same except for price. I now use Juno because it is cheap and nothing is any better. Juno and Net Zero I believe are merged now.

What restrictions are holding you back? I'm just wondering. There are alternatives to 56K but we need to know what is it exactly thats holding you back? Is it the Cost? or is it because you live in middle of no where.

There is Adsl, Wireless, Dsl, Cable and others. I'm just wondering.

Also, ditch AOL. you're paying $25 for dialup? thats ridiculous IMO (assuming you are paying that). DSL companies off DSL for freakin 20 a month..AOL is nothing but a rip off.

damn near anywhere that you can get a phone connection, you can get a DSL connection. You gotta be pretty out there not to be offered that.

Dialup is Dialup no matter how you slice it. i'm sure no matter what you do you'll never go far enough above 56K to see a difference

This sucks! I too must go the Dial up route due to moving in a rural area. SBC doesn't offer service in the area and I checked the existing Verizon number of the home.

I'm going to go insane. I've had the SBC DSL Pro package for two years now. Too bad there aren't any Satelite internet services.
