I'd to hear from you guys on my slight complication. I'd like to overclock this box but seeing as I have a 4000 clawhammer (FFS)....yeeeaahh. My last stick of ram before going dual was a Geil 1gb 3448 now its ballistix 512x2 2226. If i so much as go 215 on the fsb, bam i get a lovley bsod. I guess the higher timings on the geil made it tolerate 220-225mhz fsb. Thing is I wont mind doing 3 or 4 on the timings but not on the cas value. 2-3-3-6, or 2-3-4-9 etc. Seeing as I have a 4000 claw, a8n-sli deluxe mobo, 512x2 crucial 2226, what kind of OCing would you reccommend.

Another question: Seeing as Im either getting the TT Big Typhoon or the Zal 7700cu, not to mention replace my chipset fan with this and I might get much high OCs. But hey let me know.

I wouldnt recommend using the AI overclocking option in the BIOS. Test each part seperately and see what they will do. There are plenty of great faq and guides on here to help you along. And im sure you will be able to get more than 2.64 depending on the stepping and cooling.

Flash up to the lastest BIOS and then work each component to see how far you can push them. Skip using the AI as it will only do so much and you will be able to get further manually ... with a little reading and practice.

Work through the FAQ on you MB - see link in my sig.

Ah thank you Duke, that was exactly what I needed to read. That should give me a nice boost. Yeah I'm not touching AI anymore since voltages are automatic. AI might also make ram timings a bit too conservative.
