X850 PCI-E max potential

Thread Starter
Hi

I have an X850 (used to be pro vivo 256) flashed bios to xt platinum edition. Unfortunately it seems that the pipes on my card are permanently locked and I will always be stuck with 12 (unless someone knows how to manually unlock the pipes as could be done in the odl days). However the card is running absolutely fine peaking at 50ish celsius (I presume ati tools reports in celsius????) under full load. I have the arctic cooling kit for it installed so are these temps fahrenheit or celsius?

Anyway, whilst trying to determine if my card could run at xtpe cards before flashing I made a schoolboy error and entered the speeds the wrong way around!!! Instead of gpu at 540 and mem at 590 I tested at 590 gpu and 540 mem!! BUT I got no artifacts!!!

What then is the potential for getting the fastest stablest performance out of this card? I've been oc'ing pc for years but this is the first time I've entered into doing the card too!

Thanks in adavnce for your replies.

I'd just use ATi Tool and select Max Core. I think I've seen some XTs get to up around the 590 area though.
