I like this board a lot, once I got used to this board's bios terms and the fact I have extra like ht settings with the 64bit cpu that i never had before. according to asrock, the board is exactly the same except for a few upgrades and vista hardware ready, which is awsome if you plan to get vista. I am after its been out for about 8 months.

I've been ocing my proc for a while now on this board and I must say that the BIOS post fail-safe feature on this board really works. After the 3rd or 4rth unsuccessful post, my Asrock Dual Sata2 always manages to post at the 4rth or 5th try. It gives a short report about this missed posts. There's no need to short the bios or to unplug the battery. I have tested a lot of different oc configurations on this mobo and often times my oc settings would lead to post failures but I didn't worry because of this nifty feature

Hey Mantice2000,

how much does your x1900XT score in 3DMark2K5? I already know that the AGP slot on this board works fantastic, but I would like a confirmation on how its PCI express slot performance. Might be using it sometime next year

I told my buddy about my DUAL-SATA2 board and he bought the VSTA for his new system. He didn't believe me when I told him the price until he went and looked for himself. It does look to be about the same as the SATA2, but with some more BIOS options and a couple slight differences. He has his running at stock with a FX-55 right now. I run my system at 2.7 24/7 and haven't had any problems so far. I haven't done any mods to the board either. I have read alot of things about ASRock, but my experience with this board has been good.

Yep. No complaints here. The ULI chipset is excellent. My X2 can run stable at 2.6GHz.on this board. I felt it risky buying this board at first but I am a very satisfied user now

I have still not been able to test my system or even oc it unfortunately. I have been out of town for work and getting mad ot. I am in Iowa testing control buildings for PG&E at EP2. I am learning a lot but still would like some free time, when I get home I am going to start this http://www.overclock.net/cooling-exp...xperiment.html

and hopefully will be able to start the oc on my DUAL-VSTA. Sorry for the lag on the OC.....

I'll be keeping an eye for your benchmarks. But considering what I have seen so far from my board, I'm sure it will be great. Add to that you have an improved version of our motherboards.

Hey Addict,

I bought this board for the sole purpose of building a new gaming rig with an Athlon64 and pci-e card (check my specs). I have only run this board with the Sapphire GTO2 card. All I can say is 'it ****ing smokes'.

I play mainly Americas Army online. There are guys there with newer supposedly faster cards that are getting half my FPS. Now this is largely due to the GPU, but some credit must go to the board also. I have never had a hitch. I have OC'd the board to 2550, on a Venice 3500.

So in answer to your question, the pci-e slot works fine for me.

If I was buying a VC today I would be looking at the Radeon X1900XT or XTX.

Cheers

Tolak

Really nice to hear that Tolak68! I value highly the opinions of end users because that's really where the buck stops or more precisely, where the buck comes from. Hehehe. So now I can be confident that when time comes I have to switch to pci-x, the performance stays very competitive
