a true overclocker would boot the pc into bios and then rig up another computer or laptop beside it and read all 45 pages, TWICE.

if you do not have the patience to read 45 pages... then you will never achieve your highest overclock, young grasshopper

Sorted the problem. did this by uninstalling all the usb hubs and controllers from device manager, and then restarting winblows. cheers for the help guys

If you haven't gotten an answer about this, then go to device manager and delete your usb's. then the new hardware installer will automatically detect the uninstalled hardware and attempt to install. when prompted to find drivers just load your intsall cd and find the path your done......

So this board would fit me perfectly (or even the VSTA) and for the most part I hear people raving about it....... but where in the heck can I find one?!!! I've been searching all over the place. Looks discontinued, but it seems hard to believe there isn't a shop somewhere with some of these boards in stock...

Any ideas? Anybody looking to sell theirs!

Great info on this thread guys, I have it bookmarked in case I'm able to get my hands on one of these

this board, as far as I can tell, has been discontinued, I'm pretty sure there are some one Newegg, but...don't buy any, because I have to buy one for my friend and build his system, he wants the same mobo as me (he has an AGP card...I know....).
But, they are out there, and they are sweeeeet

Dude,
I'd like to extend my gratitude to you for starting this thread. Lots of people, including me, would have been lost if it wasn't for this fine thread. Now, I'm running my X2 at 2.6GHz. Would have been 2.7GHz if I could just afford some better cooling than this stock AMD HSF!

Okay just to get right down to it:

I'm running an X2 4400 toledo, 1 or 2 gigs pc3200(it hasn't mattered), and a 6800gt. All of that and my best 3dmark05 score has never broken 3000. With either the default settings in the bios or changing stuff following the guide on the first page of this thread, I've never had more than a few hundred points difference. Mind you, that's also taking into account the times I ran the test with a different video card(x800xt), drivers, and differing amounts and brands of DDR. Then you factor in the freeze on startup problem that it's had from day 2, which happens whether I change anything or not, and I'm ready to take a baseball bat to this thing.

And best of all I can't RMA it because I had to take the heatsink mount off to mount my waterblock on the cpu.

You should be getting scores well over 5000! Since you have tried different videocards on your rig, I presume you have used driver cleaner before installing another card(especially when jumping from ati to nvdia). You could also check if you have the latest dx9 version(dec2k6). There are tons of possibilities. The best way for us to help you is for you to feed us your exact bios settings and relevant software installed like what forceware you are using now. Now give us some more info and we'll see where we go from there.

The highest cpu score I've ever gotten was 720(.5fps for both tests) with the following settings(stock video card speeds):

Dual VSTA bios 1.30(highest for this version of the board)

1.4v, mult 11, Htt 220-256(tried it all), nb 800/16, sb 800/16, every voltage setting I could find up to high

Getting the corsair value dual channel up to and past 200mhzwas a nightmare, 2.5,3,3,8 (254.something was the highest I remember cpu-z reporting) , and I couldn't keep it stable.

Fresh install of winxp prosp2. Also have AMD's dual core DRIVER, not the optimizer. Omega Drivers v1.6693(again, the video is not what I was interested in here).

The freeze problem seems to go away when I disable dual core support. And just to test I ran 3dmark on single core and got in the high 600's. My highest system score was with my x800xt, in which I achieved a BLISTERING 2910, but then i switched it out hoping that the freeze issue was a video card problem. No dice.
