Unsure, check the manual, the next version 939 Dual Vsta does not support nVidia according to the manual, so it may be the same with the Dual SATA.
a few posts above mine digital sonata has his specs with a 7600 , but i know the 8800 gt is pcie 2.0 , just not sure if this board is compatable with 2.0 ? i did a google but could not find anything to say yes or no .

I know the PCIe 2.0 slot is reverse compatible. Not a clue if the card supports PCIe 1.0 though.

Hey all,

Been a really long time since I've been on the boards here. Bought a car and basically forgot about my computer sitting up in my room. So anyway, the 939 dual sata board worked perfect for me for the first few months I had it. CPU was running 2.8ghz perfectly stable on the stock cooling fan/heatsink.

After a little while I started getting random reboots, no bsod or any warning, just rebooted by itself. So I figured the problem was with the ram cause that was the last hardware change I made, so I took out one stick and ran a single 512mb in it and it ran just fine. Put 2 sticks back in to make 2x512 and it would cause random reboots, and I tried two different sets of 2x512 and they both did this. Because of this I figured it must be the ram slots on the mobo cause unless I only ran 1x512mb stick it would crash.

Right now it's running Windows Server 2003 x64 with 1x512mb stick of ram and its been running for weeks no crashes. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem before and might know a way to fix it? Is the motherboard no good?

BTW sorry for the novel.

update...
see if this helps...
my DDR400's were running at 129 MHz with NO OC...
They would only go to 166 MHZ when OC'd...

BUT...anything i can do to make rig faster / setup properly?

Advanced > CPU COnfig
Overclock mode = CPU PCIE Async
PCI = 100 MHz (not sure how to use or what this relates to, appart from a PCIE card?)
FSB = 241 MHz
Boot Failure Guard = Enabled
SPread Spectrum = Auto (not sure what this does)
Cool & Quiet = Disabled

Multi / Voltage = manual
CPU Multi = 21x 2400 MHz
CPU Volt = 1.400 V

Memory Clock = 133 MHz DDR333 (even though using DDR400's - correct?)
Flexability Option = Disabled
CAS - Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)
TRAS - Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)
TRP - Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)

Bank Interleaving - Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)
Memory Hole - Disabled (not sure what this does or how to use)

how do i OC my memory?!

Advanced > Chipset

Is this section what this relates to?
5x is (1000mhz)
4x is (800mhz)
3x is (600mhz)

CPU - NB Link - 800 MHz
CPU - NB Link - 16 Bit
NB - SB Link Speed - 800 MHz
NB - SB Link Width - 16 Bit
HTT to PCI Bridge = Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)
DRAM Voltage = Auto (not sure what this does or how to use)
Gated Clock Fun = Disabled (not sure what this does or how to use)
AGP P2P Deep Fifo = Disabled (not sure what this does or how to use)

that now gives me.......
Core Speed - 2911 MHz
Bus Speed - 241 MHz
HT Link - 965 MHz
DRAM - 193 Mhz

(HOW go i get this higher / better?! or have a reached the limit before having to vdimm and vcore it?)

is the VDIM mod a matter of flicking a switch?
vcore..ummm..not that brave!

as for PCI-E cards...
ANY single PCI-E card will run on this board...
I was in the process of getting a BFG 8800 GTS OC 512 for the dual sata, BUT i am having problems with the ebay seller!.....

Please forgive a newb at overclocking, but I have had this system for awhile now, I’d like to get a little more out of it, and this seemed like the place to ask! I have read through some of this thread, but I have to admit that at close to 50 pages, it’s a bit daunting!

Anyway, I have the 939Dual motherboard and an Athlon 64 3200+ Venice core cpu, BIOS version 2.58, stock cooling. CPU-Z pics are below. It is running pretty much stock/default right now. Cool’n’Quiet is currently enabled, hence the misleading stats in CPU-Z (by the way, I gather I should disable C'n'C if I overclock anything, yes?).

I’m not looking for anything crazy, just want to up the performance a little, maybe 2.2 or so, so I’m hoping someone can tell me specifically which BIOS settings to change to accomplish this. From reading through here I get the idea I need to adjust the HTT, multiplier, and RAM frequency setting, but if someone could list the specifics, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks!

~ Rick

p.s. Sorry, I haven't been able to figure out to get the CPU-Z screenshots into this post. I have them saved as jpg files, but using the "Insert Image" function only adds the name of the file, not the image itself. I'll add them as soon as I can figure it out!

Wow. I forgot that I had this thread in subscriptions. Here's another thread that may help you. http://www.overclock.net/769732-post111.html

To upload your screenshots you'll need to use a hosting site like Imageshack or Photobucket and then post the forum link that they provide.

Good luck!

THIS is a great place to start. It's been too long since I've messed with this board to be of any specific help. Just make sure to disable Cool N Quiet for a start.

Thanks for the link - good info! So, is the general consensus that Cool'n'Quiet should be disabled for best performance?
