I'd go for the Thermaltake Big Typhoon for the HSF and look at the DFI nF4 SLI-D, SLI-DR or Expert range depending on accessories that you need/level of expertise. Also, the Asus A8N32-SLI is meant to be good as well.

I'm gonna have to agree with Ste. Go for the BigTyphoon.

And I agree w/ his motherboard suggestions as well.

I have a dual core Opteron 170 running on an Asus A8N32-SLI.
The CPU runs at 2700MHz - 10 x 270 or 9 x 300. Both ways are stable!
The CPU is cooled by a Thermalright XP-90C.
With 1.6volts running through the CPU and crunching SETI work units 24/7 (ie. always 100% load) it sits on (depending on room temp.) anywhere from 48-50 degrees celcius.

Using the XP-90C on this particular motherboard has nice plus.
The heatsink can be mounted with the overhang to the left or to the right.
Overhang on the left and the air from the fan cools the heatsink attached to the heatpipes, therefore elimanting the need to the optional northbridge cooler.
Or, with the overhang to the right, the air blows down onto the RAM modules.

Personally I went with air blowing over the RAM modules and mounted the optional cooler for the northbridge. I am overclocking, so I need all the cooling I can get.

And, of course, the beefier the fan you mount on it the better the cooling you'll get. My fan is rated for 53CFM.

I've read reviews about the Asus A8N32-SLI and they've said it's good for 310MHz FSB.
At 310MHz on my particualar mobo it loads the OS fine, can run Doom 3 fine, but bring on some stress testing and it soon grinds to a halt.
I have found 305MHz to be stable though.

Hope that helps.
