Best VGA cooler?

Alright, I'm planning on getting a new cooler for my GPU. I'm leaning towards the Zalman VF700 Cu (w/ or w/o the LEDs) as it is only around $37 tops shipped from xoxide. I'm just wondering if there is a better cooler out for the AGP 6600-series cards for under $40 shipped.

thats about the best for that card.. Go for it

Clubit has thier Zalman for a good price

Probably, but someone put up a link for the Arctic Silencer model that fits your card and it was on clearance for $9.99. I think it was MWAVE.com that was blowing 'em out.

None of the Artic Silencers fit the 6600-series AGP cards AFAIK. The dumbass PCIe to AGP chip (how they port the 6-series to AGP) gets in the way of the cooler.

slap on a VF700-cu with the leds.. paste on AS5, and you will get the best air cooler for a VGA card (Unless you buy the FATAL1TY version which is alot more expensive but cools better.)

Dont forget to peel off the thermal tape under the ramsinks and paste on some AS5. If you dont, then theyre almost useless. If you do, then theyre great

I don't think I have the need for AS5. If I save up another like $10 (it costs a lot shipped for such a tiny tube) I might consider getting it and reseating my CPU HSF while I'm at it. As for the RAMsinks, I think that thermal tape will be fine for me.

WHAT if you take off the thermal tape and use only AS5 the sinks will fall off eventually. Just leave the thermal tape on and stick them to it.

proof huh im assuming you have the lil wieghtless zalman sinks lol try attaching my big copper ones with AS5 and its not sticky its a lil tacky probably justtttt enough to keep those lil light ones on lol and youll get NO gain by usuing the AS5 on the chips the tape will do just as good

I gotta go with waxhop on this one. The mem chips don't get hot enuff to warrant AS5. The pads are more than adequate.
