Tabun...the XFX. (Almost) all XFXs are stock overclocked and they perform really good in o/cing and gaming (generally). I'd say a gamer's choice

I would wait for this week to pass (the release of the G71) to see if the 7800 prices drop. There really is not comparison of the 6800GS and7800GT. Don't be fooled by the GS's high clock speeds.

I'd check this thread out:
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7635...-no-stock.html
If 7900Gts are being released at about £220 then I doubt 7800GTs will be much more than £140.

Can someone confirm this? Post a screen shot of the game generating 100+ frames.

Anyhow, if the price of the 7800 GT drops, that'll be great but I seriously doubt that it will be in the 6800 GS's range when the G71 comes out.

I had that dilemma about two weeks ago: To 7800 GT or To 6800 GS...price? nah! 6800 GS it is and for my 6800 GS I chose the e-GeForce 6800 GS CO Part Number: 256-P2-N391-AX. It's a beauty, it overclocks pretty good only with the stock cooler and run very cool also, despite the 500/1200 I have it running at, so I guess the pure copper heat-sink helps.

Highest benchmark speed: 535/1204.

Be warned though, the 83.xx drivers suck big time for benching, right now I'm using the 81.98 from nVidia's site. I'll wait to see what the 84.xx or 85.xx will be like.

And name a monitor that has a 100hz refresh rate! I think you are out of your mind!

i'll get a screenshot but...

how is it not possible to get 100+frames?...

theres no 100mhz refresh rate monitor but u can get 100+ frames in any game on a 85,75, or 60 refresh rate monitor if u have vsync off..

i use fraps to show fps in my corner and it shows up to 115 in UT2004

You don't seem to understand. If the monitor is 85hz, it can't do any better than 85 FPS

BTW, the average person can't tell the difference between 45hz and 60hz... Try waving you hand in front of your eyes quickly, see the ghosting?

Mitsubishi Diamondtron NF 2040u. LCDs only dream of this. 1600x1200 @ 85Hertz, 1024x768 @ 144Hertz.

Fraps ah? Interesting but $37 for that? I don't think so. Next time you play UT2K4 use this to show your fsp; "stat fps"

And fellas, at 60Hertz is a pain to watch, recommended is being greater than 75Hertz to ease it up on your eyes.
