Will this build work?

So this is the first PC I will be (attempting) to build from scratch so im still a bit unsure about it all.
Anyways, here's what im looking to use, I just want some input on parts and whatnot. Any suggestions are appreciated.
CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146060
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341018
MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130275
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103727
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130339
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231276
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152181
CD/DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151216
OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-754-_-Product

So I've got a couple questions:
1) Is everything compatible and did i forget anything? lol
It's my first build so i keep thinking I'll end up sitting there with a computer not turning on...which wouldn't be cool at all
2)I'm using a motherboard with an AMD chipset and an NVIDIA GPU, that wouldn't cause any problems right?

Yes, everything is compatible and no, running an nVidia GPU with an AMD chipset is not a problem. There are definitely some parts I would swap out, though. Hold on, I'll throw something together for you right quick.

Your subtotal for that build comes out to $842.91, so I'm gonna assume a budget of $850. Gimme a sec.

Antec 300 Case + Antec TruePower New TP-550 PSU Combo -- $129.98
BIOSTAR TA890FXE Motherboard -- $139.99
Powercolor Radeon HD 5750 1GB GPU -- $124.99
AMD Phenom II 955 C3 CPU -- $159.99
A-DATA Gaming Series DDR3-1600 4GB (2 x 2GB) Memory -- $105.99
Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB HDD -- $54.99
ASUS Black DVD-ROM Drive -- $16.99
Windows 7 Home Premium -- $99.99

There you go. Subtotal is $832.91 .

I replaced the Geforce 9800GTX+ with the Radeon 5750 so you have DX11 graphics.

The case I picked has great airflow and the PSU that comes in a combo with it is also top notch. Your rig will pull nowhere near 700 watts, so that OCZ PSU is overkill. Besides, the stability of the Antec PSU trumps the OCZ from what I have read.

I went with the 955 over the 965 because now with the C3 stepping, chips run cooler. You could probably just raise the CPU multi and get to 3.4 GHz on the stock cooler, anyway.

I upgraded your mobo because it's the one component besides the PSU that I never cheap out on. Having a good mobo means you can overclock if you want to down the road and since it's Biostar's flagship motherboard, it's pretty certain that they'll release a BIOS update for it when AMD's new CPU's come out in 2011, so you'll be able to drop a new CPU right into this board the next time you upgrade. It's also got a lot of PCIe lanes, so if you want to run Crossfire down the road, it's a viable option.

Well a couple of my components actually came in combos:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.397501
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.420002

I just put everything separate to make it easier to see specs

But you're right about PSU being overkill and skimping out a bit on the mobo. I was hoping to upgrade the GPU later, so im not sure weather to get a 700 now, or just wait and upgrade when/if i get a better graphics card later. I should try to find a better mobo, although, reviews say this is pretty good fro OC'ing.

But at least i know my rig will work if i do get it, that's promising, considering it's my first build

Even if you were to run dual 9800GTX+'s or 5750's, 550 watts is enough. As long as the PSU is good, you won't need a super-high wattage unit to power a rig of that caliber.
