Thanks, so I think I will try to sell the parts and hopefully break even or make some profit perhaps, as I'm hoping to actually keep the retail windows vista because I only have an OEM windows 7 that is locked to my sig rig's mobo. Having a retail version of windows gives me the option to upgrade my motherboard in the future if need-be, furthermore I can upgrade the windows vista to windows 7 with my university's free enterprise upgrade. I kind of want to keep the velociraptor hdd as well... .

Other than the board and the PSU, that's definitely a great rig.
Is the psu really that bad? Kingwin's seem to have decent reviews on Newegg.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the M4A79XTD EVO board is capable of running SLI, otherwise I would totally do that.

Yea you take the deal. Costing more does not always equal better. No one will spwnd much on a 9450. That chip is terrible on overclocking.

Do you know how old that chip is? Do not you think there is a good reason the owner wants to get rid of it?

It is obvious the amd setup has more value.
You are such an AMD fanboy dude, it hurts.

Go with the intel build it will do better and is a better value.

I would definitely do the trade for the Intel setup. That is just the smarter thing to do. Do not consider what you can upgrade to but what you have now. Maybe when AMD Bulldozer comes out the motherboard will become really cheap and you could sell your current setup and regain the cost difference while keeping a higher performing system right now. I buy and sell stuff all the time and it's just smarter to go with the faster performing setup that is also worth more. You don't know how the market will change.

Why keep a slower performing chip with possibility to upgrade for cost of CPU selling your current CPU for very little money OR get the faster performing quad core with motherboard right now (775) and then sell both CPU and mobo for significantly higher price than current CPU and buy new CPU + new mobo combo (new mobo price will drop and possibly newer chipsets will be out).

He already said that he bought the comp for $450

And as far as fanboy, the Intel will be faster for now, but it has no upgrade path

Unlike the AMD Bulldozer he could upgrade to in a while

Still say I would've traded. I'm sure there will be newer better chipsets when bulldozer is released. Plus he was getting better gpu's and more of them and a quad.

The 680i may not be the top overclocker. Oh well everyone has thier opinions
