I was considering that. What do you think they are worth individually? Or in a bundle?

Socket 775 is not dead, just not going anywhere, The Intel P45 chip will OC a Q9550
to 4 gig. in most case's and before some thinks about dropping a grand on a CPU upgrade the need to think
"Do I really need or can even use a six core processor with HT"

How ever I do agree that OP is better of with his AM3/DDR3 rig then switching to an out dated Chip set that only supports DDR2

omg this is such a no brainer. go for the trade! you do realize that the intel setup is a lot more expensive than the amd setup. even though it's LGA775 it will perform a lot faster than the amd setu. you can sell it to a higher price as well.

Even though it is faster, it will hard to sell at a good price. if being sold to a knowledgable person.

Maybe harder to sell at the full retail price. Either way, I assure you, the Intel setup will sell for much more than the AMD one that he has listed RIGHT NOW. Don't tell me that that AMD setup will sell for more than the Intel one. Check the marketplace and price up the individual components. Check eBay, check OC BST. Let me know what you come back with for the value of each setup.

EDIT

Here are some values I got from eBay completed listing.

Q9450 ~$130
XFX 680i LT ~$40
GTX 260 ~$130 each

Total = ~$430

Athlon II X3 440 ~$70
M4A79XTD EVO ~$80
5770 ~$120

Total = ~$270

These prices are completed listing prices with many being sold for around that price. So please tell me how that AMD system is worth more or even a better choice.

Did I say the amd system will sell for more. The point is it is old and dead.

The amd setup will sell much faster.

No. Also i would stick with the AMD build as there is nothing more on the 775 socket, but on your current one you can just get a Phenom x2/x4 or something, of course there is SLI 260s but you can always add a second 5770 which would be better. Whatever your decision, good luck

While the AMD system will sell much faster, it will sell for CONSIDERABLY less. What would you rather take ... $430 vs $270. It is quite obvious you are a huge AMD fanboy.
