+1. it's the obvious choice. the trade is a steal yet he is convincing the OP that it's a bad deal.

Obvious you have no commen sense.

Op gets what I am saying and agrees with me. You do not matter.

You can state prices all you want. The point is many persons will overlook it because it is so outdated.

Atleast you are thinking.

You overlook the bigger point. Trade the system and sell it and buy a much better system with AMD or Intel with whatever you want.

That's an excellent rate IMO the 2 GPUs alone brand new in the UK would be around $350-400

Just to clarify to everyone I didn't do the trade but bought the whole computer for cash--see my previous post below:

I thought it was a good deal as I added up the general prices of all the following components and it came up to about $700-800, so I'm hoping I made the right decision to just purchase the computer outright. Here are the specs:

Antec 1200 case
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 with attached Zalman CPU cooler
Zalman fan controller
2 XFX GTX 260 (192 core) in SLI config
300gb 10k VelociRaptor HD
Kingwin ABT-700MA1S Mach 1 - 750w psu
XFX NForce 680i LT SLI Socket 775 motherboard
Retail windows vista ultimate
2gb OCZ Ram PC6400 ddr2 800

I hopefully made the right decision, I am hoping to use certain parts to upgrade my sig rig and sell other parts to make back the money I used to purchase it... Thanks again everyone for your input, I really appreciate it!

Umm they do on many different boards. I have a QX9770 that ran on the Asus Striker Extreme which used the 680i chipset and the OP is currently running that Q9450 in that 680i LT board. Through experience many have tried it and it does indeed work. The Inquirer is known to hate on Nvidia.

I can confirm that the Q9450 is running fine in the 680i board, unlike what that inquirer article states.

i have exactly the same MB and Q9450 setup and i can't get the board to see the CPU as anything more than a 3.0GHZ Dual Core......................i can mess with clock speeds etc and increase and various Win 8 applications say tehy can read teh Chip id as a Quad Q9450..........but WIN 8 over all still thinks its a Dual Core E8400 running at 3.0 GHz.

Can't find anyone anywhere that actually says here is a working Bios.................flash your XFX 680i LT........flash it good and hard!!!

Any ideas...........apart from.....LoL............wrapping my board in Tin foil and holding a Haoir dryer on the main chips!!! Cheers - smile.gif
