Crysis Crash?

Thread Starter
I just recently got Crysis Warhead and I can't get farther than 10 minutes into the first level before it crashes.

CPU is stock ATM with a stock cooler(maxes at 60c) Hyperthreading is off. My GPU reaches the high 60's (its over 80F in my room right now)

I do have a SSD but Crysis is on my 1TB storage drive(Samsung F1). It asked me to install some game comrad thing and I said no because I figured it was bloatware. The game was installed through steam and the multi-player version works great. It auto detected on gamer settings but when it crashed I tried overclocking 825/2000/1250 (tested 100% stable in a prior rig) and still no luck.

It is basically a complete black screen that I need to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get out of. The error just says that crysis warhead has crashed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This game seems good and I would like to enjoy it!

i dont think its your hardware i think its the game, try updating it and also try tuning down some of the settings, you wont see a visual difference.

I tried turning down the settings and it is the same stuff. I just updated my bios and installed new chipset drivers(I was having an issue with my SSD drivers). I just got past the 3rd checkpoint where it ussually crashes on and got to the 5th this time around which was surprising. I'm also gaming at 1920x1080 so I do notice a huge difference when I turn down the settings.

I was running it with my gpu overclocked today and I started to see some artifacting(never got this in 3d mark or anything like that ) so I removed the overclock and it crashed about 2 minutes later. Man do the graphics look nice though;]
