9600XT fan brushing on heatsink

Thread Starter
From the day I installed my ATI Radeon 9600XT, I've been able to hear what sounds like the fan intermittently and lightly brushing against the heatsink.

Has anyone else run into the problem?

There is no performance or heating issues with the card, to the best of my knowledge. I've been taught, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Though it's worrysome. I can post a video or audio file if you want.

Any suggestions?

the only thing i coudl think of is some of your wiring comming into contact with the fan and making a little sound, check that out

I had this problem with a 9800 Pro that did the same thing. I checked the fan was getting tight and it seem un-balance. So I end up buying a aftermarket fan anyways with some ram heat sinks. Now it works like a charm and even better as far as temperature go.
