Here is quote from a psp fourm

''Im not sure if anyone had known this but there is a HL1 and CS for the PSP already, well...Not EXACTLY. Its pretty much a Doom wad merged with the CS Wad file. Its Doom, but for the guns there CS style guns, and the Map is De_Dust. Its pretty good, I made a video of me playing, just to show people
http://media.putfile.com/CS279''

Yeah it seems awsome and I want it on my psp soooo bad, or if there is a version that's on the build engine instead please tell me. Thanks in advanced.

Well, that's not really Counterstrike, of course. It's clearly just Doom using a custom .wad that mimics CS. The quote says "merged", but there's no way that's the right word. I gather from other posts I have seen that CS does use datafiles with a .wad extension, but there is no way they are the same as a Doom .wad. Doom maps were 2D using binary space partitions and the enemies were sprites, Half-Life (and thus Counterstrike) was a true 3D engine.

What we have here is a Doom .wad that someone created based on CS maps. The .wad has probably been floating around out there for years for use on the PC, you just need to go look for it. Google should turn up the .wad and PSP port of Doom pretty readily, I would think.

Yeah I knew that your coulden't ''tone'' down cs that much. It would have been cooler on the build engine cause you can jump and have lights and stuff. Are their explosions on doom, because I am wondering if there are grenades in this merged game.

There are explosions, yes. Shooting a barrel caused an explosion, and the rocket launcher did some splash damage as well.

But grenades...that would take some effort on the wad designer. For one thingh, there is no real z-axis in Doom, it's all simulated visually. E.g., if you shoot straight ahead towards a monster on a platform that looks like it is 10 feet above you, you'll still hit him because he is in front of you in 2D space. So to make a grenade look like it is being thrown, they would have to modify the bullet to "draw itself" lower and lower the farther away it went to simulate gravity pulling it down.

Even more difficult might be the fact that all bullets in Doom traveled infinitely far, until they hit a wall. The lowly pistol could hit a target hundreds of yeards away if you could aim well enough. But a grenade does need to stop after it hits the ground to seem realistic. That might be a more difficult task. I don't know enough about wad creation to know if it is even possible, but it would be the only weapon that worked this way.
