I really considered adding a GPU block to the loop, but there are a few issues. I currently have the Asus EAH4890. It still handles games as well as most of the ATI 5xxx series cards. However, It will start falling behind once the ATI 6xxx series becomes popular. I would hate to invest money into cooling a card that will be replaced in less than a year.
One way around this would be to get a universal water block. Does anyone know of a good universal block that would work on the EAH4890 as well as the ATI 5xxx and ATI 6xxx series? If I were to find a universal block, do the memory chips on the card need to be cooled? What would be more universal-- passive copper blocks or video ram water cooling blocks? Lastly, could it be done for under $100? All of the fittings would need to be 3/8".
