Thread Starter
yea, I think il stick with XP then upgrade in a year or so after the Vista fixes any glitches it may have, but eventually this will be a must im sure.

i say in the meantime dual partiton and run XP as your primary and get a beta version thats floating around to playaround with. I wouldnt suggest Beta as your primary though. But get the basics to be compatible and upgrade bit by bit.

I'd say don't talk about getting software (in the form of Vista) if it's just "floating around". That said, I have a legal beta and it is a very good OS.

What build is Beta2? I have build 5308. I know that there have been people get the vista program off torrent and then they find out it has a 13 day trial period, then called to activate and were givin a legal key. They asked why and it is because Microsoft wants it to be played with so they can figure out all of the bugs before release. Don't know if it is true, but I did get Vista from there. It has 2 keys. One for a client and one for a server. What do you all think?

How do you run vista as a second os? Is it like booting up with xp or another xp (somehow I had an old comp that said it had to windows xp's on it, and it booted up after I chose one 0.o). Does it come up with that list so you can choose to run xp or vista, or do I have to grab another hard drive, install vista on it, and just plug it in whenever I want to use vista?

More along the lines of the subject of this thread, I found an old website where people were trash talking about windows 95 or 98 and debating weather or not to go buy it. It was a long time ago, and I didn't bookmark the page. So, I can't tell you the URL, but I bet windows vista will be a great os once the computer technology gets fast enough (if it isn't already) to run it well. Since Intel and AMD are coming out with their new chips soon, the wait probably will not be very long.

Vista sounds promising, however I'll be waiting a while before I get it, no rush for me, XP works well, and it's going to take quite some time before MS debugs it. Just my 2 bytes.
