Thread Starter
I was just wondering if it would be worth while to use a spare p3 650mhz to fold and just leave it on !

I think there's an FAQ for that under the folding section of FAQs. A PIII 650 won't do too much, but it will fold. Just make sure you don't do WUs bigger than 5mb or the system will get swamped.

The more computers you have working, the more points you get.
I run a P3 550, and it's competent but slow. It averages about 30 points/day with a high of around 40 ppd on some WUs and a low of around 15 ppd. The rule of thumb I use for determining if a computer is worthwhile for folding is if the money I spend on electricity to run the folding rig would be better served going directly to charity. Because of that, the Celly 466s I have no longer fold. They took an average of a month to complete small WUs, and it wasn't worthwhile keeping them on 24/7.

Jrabb has a folding dynasty, farm is an understatement! I'd say let it fold, you might aswell. I had a 800mhz celeron laptop folding and that was extremely slow but I think it was due to heat issues. I had it running in my closet (big walk in closet) and when I went into it I could smell burning plastic all the time hahahaha. It would turn off every once in awhile too so I think it was just running so hot it wasnt performing. I put it out of commission as it took about 20 days to do a 100 point WU.
