Ram for Asus HT2000 MCP61PM-AM SOCKET

Hi all this is my first post so please be nice :-)

i know i may sound like a retard when i ask this but im looking to get some ram for my mobo and i cant find any that fits this board when i ask the person who i bought it off i get "i dunno" and when i Google it i get conflicting answers so i thought i would ask the real experts

its a:Asus HT2000 MCP61PM-AM2 SOCKET

The AM2 Platforms uses DDR2, this board is from a OEM build from what I can tell.
So you will need standard DDR2 400-800Mhz DIMM's, the max size of the DIMM will be 2GB.

Sounds like an nVidia chipset motherboard. You might be able to get a DDR2 1066 kit over a DDR2 800 kit but if it's an OEM board then most likely a good portion of the BIOS options will be locked down. If you cannot manually set the RAM divider in the BIOS then I would go with a DDR2 1066 kit as the bandwidth would be greater over DDR2 800. If the RAM divider options are not locked in the BIOS or if you are able to increase the FSB, then go with a good DDR2 800 kit that overclock to about 1000-1066MHz.
