Not really sure if this counts, I got an engineering sample so it just shows as genuine intel part under cpu z.

And also ... the price of C602 dual socket boards are shocking and X79 boards are not cheap either. I'm probably going for C612 dual socket boards or I'll just use my X99S SLI Plus with my 2675 V3. I'm gonna buy a 2690 V3 ES on that note.

I got a 2690 V3 last week. We're seeing them as server pulls for under $500.
It's running at the same speed to render as my 5960x overclocked to 4.7, but way cooler under load smile.gif
Just on a sabertooth right now but maybe in the future I'll get another one with a dual socket board (one of these cpus is more than enough for my work but I'm addicted).

That's a pretty crazy deal for a 12 core. I went with an ivy bridge 10 core for 200 because I already had an x79 board from my 3930k build. What kind of work do you need 12 cores for?

I do renders in Archicad, which uses Cinerender. 12 cores saves me an hour a day ($85) over 8 cores smile.gif
Well worth it.

An OC'd 5960x runs fantastically hot haha. Whoever said AMD chips are hot should try a 5960x/1660 v3 tongue.gif

I love my 16 core but it's really only useful for my server at just 2GHz (Still very fast but ... eh.) . So I'm going to hold out with my 16 and wait for BW-E.

Where did you get your 2690v3 for $500? It is an ES?

Hi guys, after a bit of advice. Ive got a z600 workstation with 2x x5650's . The processors are still quite good but the Mb is a limit I'm looking far advise on a dual 1366 board which will take my CPU's and give me the possibility of running sli gtx970's (I already have 1)

Thanks in advance

ebay. It was a japanese company. They don't have any left now - I got 1 of the 4 they had a month ago, but they've still got some nice chips for cheap...
No it wasn't ES.

I wonder why they're selling server pulled 2011 V3s... Being a pretty current chip...
My one is ok. It runs hot at idle but cool under load and seems to match the spec on cinebench.
