Winnipeg, 45 mins away from US border, touching state; North Dakota.

As far as me being a noob with a a64... meh, all i could honestly afford. Like I said, I had a super tight budget (and wanted a really nice LCD) The 19" lcd set me back $300 alone.

hmm... too bad my cpu will blow the doors off any 3.0Ghz Intel! they really need to do something about that. some noob is going to buy an A64 and then test it out to see how it will run new games then go cry himself to sleep! LOL.
He was not reffering to you, he was taking a jab at Intel. Your 1.8/2.0 gHz processor is equal to a 2.7/3.0 gHz Intel. Overclocked to 2.2, it is a 3.3 gHz Intel.

You Have: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 (GeForce FX 5500)

I didnt think a Radeon 8500 is equal to a FX5700, but according to the test results, it seems to be. I just got my FX5500 10 months ago, (for $50, but meh).

Can anyone suggest a new video card? I was looking at the 6600, it seems decent, I wanna be below $190usd.

I'm jobless, too. lol. I spent ridiculous $800~ on a stupid VAIO that came with a 2.66 Ghz P4 Northy and 180W POS PSU that somehow powered everything w/ a 256 MB POS RAM and a POS mobo. Yes, I was quite foolish.

From then on, I made small upgrades. You could do that, too. Don't lose hope.

Yup, last time I checked a map... Canada seemd to be a very WIDE country indeed.

Is there a HUGE diff between the 6800GS and 6600GT? The price of the 6800GS is $100 more...

$199 for 6800GS. That's a decent drop from $210~ on Newegg. But 6600 (regular???) for $150 is not that much of a deal at all.

EDIT: Yep, regular. 6600GT is $131 on newegg. (It used to be $119 after rebate... )
