Intel MoBo upgrade, help please

hey guys,

I think I need to upgrade my asus p4p800s-x to something alittle better. Im having problems with the temp on this board, Im thinking if I upgrade to something slightly more high quility, it might improve. theres are my choices.....

IMO those motherboards aren't that great...you're picking bad chipsets, with the exception of maybe the jetway. Might I recommend the abit VT7, if you can find it...they discontinued it. Also try the one I have, the MSI 865PE Neo2 Platinum, which is a decent board, you can find it around 89-100 bucks US.

that board is a 775 and I have a 478 cpu.
unfortunately I cant afford $250AUD at the moment.

Any of those boards would be a downgrade from what you got now.. I would buy a tempature probe instead... Available at your local electronics shop. They will give you better readouts than your motherboard will.
