Flipping Radiator???

Thread Starter
In reading my destruction manual on draing, it says that my system should hold appox 1 liter of fluid...Now I have a hugh radiator(2x120) fans mounted, now if it is full of air, wouldnt that cause bubbles and foam, and would flipping it over to "purge" itself help fill it, the reason I ask is because I only used less than half a liter to fill system, and yes tank is full, but I can see 2 air pockets on the radiators connections.

yes that air does cause foam. I filled my hc as much as I could to start with as it will give you one big air lock(as you now know)
Yes moving it around, tilting it, and turning it upside down should help but you have to let the air go some place. When I did mine I left the hose off of one of the barbs and filled till it came out the other, then quickly attached the line back up. You need to get those bubbles out, if you see air on both sides your not getting flow which can hurt or kill your cpu, and mess your pump up also. Make sure you prime(fill with water) the pump so there's no air there either.

Hope that helps

If you have the radiator sitting on its end, and the barbs are facing towards the ground, this problem will occur. Air gets trapped in the top of the radiator and it will not operate properly.

Sounds like you have your pump setup backwards man. You sure you have the tubes on the right pump bards? You might be trying to pump backwards.

Its still like that? Did you drain to get the soap out? The air has to go some where so try to work it toward your res/T line if everything is mounted it will be a pain. Will they flow when you turn the pump on?

It should still flow shouldn't it, it would just change placement of pump. Not saying I wouldn't need changed but.

Yeah that is right. What order do you have the loop in?

Pump > Radiator > CPU > Resevoir > Pump ?
