It's a shame this thread has been dead for almost 2.5 years now..
I wanna hear more about your stories!
It's been 2.5 years. You guys must've wrecked something again!
Well, here's my list:Sapphire HD7970 Reference.
Died when benching 1.38v core and 1.70v VRAM on a Accelero which has crappy VRM cooling. Blew the VRAM VRM's.2x Foxconn 9800GX2 OEM.
Got these 2 beasts for free because they had died. I baked them, they worked fine. Decided to voltmod them a little..
It worked, however in SLI they hit about 105c load for the top card and 95c for the bottom card @ 100% fanspeed.. They didn't last long @ 1.40v vGPU 24/7...Gigabyte X58A UD7 Rev 1.0
Board came in the mail with busted pins. Bent them straight, still won't POST properly 2x2GB OCZ Platinum 1600CL7 1.90v.
All they do is spam errors @ anything over 1066Mhz after I benched them @ 1960Mhz C8-9-8-24 2.22v... They do still half work and are stable @ 1066Mhz 7-7-7-21 1.80v.Cooler Master RealPower M520W.
It still works but I don't trust it anymore. I ran a GTX560Ti and a 1100T on it with max overclocks (4.11Ghz 1.50v CPU and the 560Ti at something..) and it died in a terrible smell.. Does still turn on and runs stable again after cooling it down but I don't trust it anymore.. Thing was horrible to begin with anyways ASUS P8Z77-V
Somehow the BIOS chip died randomly when testing my newest 2500K. Had it replaced with a P8Z77-V Pro. Sold that entire system and got my current. I like this Z68 Pro a LOT more then I did ASUS's Z77 line-up...
