Intel will drop ATX next year - Page 3

BTX is an interesting design and has real world uses. As was already mentioned, this is just Intel's plan. Asus, Asrock, MSI, ECS, ect may not follow suit. At least, not immediatly. Afterall, quickly changing over an entire industry would be suicide. Case manufacture's will start making more BTX cases (and yes, the smart ones will make cases that can handle both) and then slowly BTX will likely come to be more common, I could even see some companies start by offering the same board on both formats for a while.

But it will not be a sudden change, it's just not feasible. See how Intel is basically giving a year's warning? By the time Intel's all BTX board's roll out we should be seeing at least 30% of the case market being BTX cases......

Hey, anything that offers better cooling is ok in my book

Yeah, if you are using air cooling..
But BTX can be a nightmare for water coolers.

Btx also shows the tops of your various pci card and gfx devices... i mean why have a styleized heatsink shroud if it not even viewable?
