I already knew that having owned both crossfire Hawks and now 470s.... I'm more interested in seeing the 470 vs 5870 results. Wish it was SLI vs Crossfire, but oh well.

Since 10.6 drivers 5000 series cards have gotten a boost in Vantage with barely any performance boost in games. A single 5850 overclocked can get 20k while an overclocked GTX 470 gets 16-17k with out water. My crossfire 5770's used to get 17.8k overclocked at 960/1300 and now get 18.5k-19k and games run the same.
Decent I guess?

I look forward to the results. I could build a fort out of all the 5000 series cards I've benchmarked this year -_-

Off topic, but kga92 is actually correct. The original post said that with the efforts of those involved in helping the OP, this would not have been possible. It should have been "without" their efforts, this would not have been possible. BUT this is all academic as what the OP is doing should not be undermined by a little mistake.

Good on ya OP! Can't wait for the results. Rep'ed in advance ... for a great idea and for taking the time to do so!

Now how much voltage did you put in your card to get it stable? Most people overclock their GTX 470 to 700-750 without touching the voltage.
Decent I guess?

I'm not most people lol.

It's over stock max voltage.... but then again I actually care about stability. Most people I see at 800-850 core are on 1.087 or less.

Nice overclock and score you would be the 6th highest score on EVGA forums with a single 470
