It doesnt give the option to optimize the raid drives. but it does on other sata drives not in a raid. You're right about that for raid 1. But even if its not in a raid, you can still remove the drive.

Cant hot swap raid 0 drives. clicking the icon allows you to "safely" turn off the device so you can unplug it. It doesn't let you with drives in raid 0. Its not an issue either. its the way its designed.

hasn't anyone ever used a USB flash drive? same thing!

mine do the same thing... on my sys tray it says safely remove hardware and when you click it it says SEAGATE xxxxxxx.....
