Z-5500 vs Z-2300? - Page 2

Don't forget the 5300e's! I have a set, and they absolutley rock.....even with onboard audio.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121121

the Logitec 5300e's sound just as great in surround sound as the 5500's do, but they are about half the price. (I believe they are 280W's compaired to 500W's on the 5500's)

I have the Z-5500 speakers and I've never had even one complaint about them. They have never failed to make me happy. =) I can't even turn them up all the way without pissing the neighborhood off. =/ I use them with the Audigy 2 Platinum and they sound fine. An X-Fi sure sounds appealing though...

how does the built in sound card on the 5500 compare to the sound audigy zs? . . . ill be going through both for my comp but ill also be running my tv and dvd throught the system as well. The specs say its capable of 24 bit at 96 or w/e which is supposedly what studios record their master copy on.

5.1 hands down... I got a 5.1 about 6 months after it came out, and man have i fallen in love! Anything lower than 5.1 just annoys me! And in games, its helped me alot with the FPS games and even racing games too, you may be somewhere in a game and you can hear someone coming up from behind you, and BOOM!!! head shot! IMHO, 5.1 is a necessity nowadays, if not 7.1!!

You may also want to look into the Creative Mega works 5.1, and the Klipcsh ProMedia 5.1 Both are amazing sound systems!

If you have a little extra money left over, to really have astonishing sound, youll want to pick up the X-Fi soundcard preferrably. If you cant afford that one then the Audigy 2 will suffice.

Well you should start your own thread for this, but ill let youknow what i think really quick.

You said it your self, your on a budget, so if you choose to buy those speakers, dont expect much "umph" from them, im sure theyll be a step up from what you have now, though i would strongly suggest saving up a little more money for a month or so and get a decent system.

But if you must get something now and have only around $70 to spend, those and the creative Inspire T5900's seem about as good as youll get.
