Thread Starter
I just ordered the ASUS P4P800SE ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131484

Is this mobo good for my system? It's supposed to come tomorrow.

Any ASUS with an Intel Core Logic is better than that (sorry to say it but) SOYO Dragon crap.

I had a SOYO board with an 865PE chipset and it was pure crap, I got it for free after rebates and thank goodness I sold it for $69 on eBay. Got an AI7 after that.

So that's a good upgrade IMO. Also You could OC that 3.0 to 3.32ghz minimum or to start with (225fsb).

There could be a slight improvement over the Soyo but don't scratch your head saying: Where it is?

Performance will come in the form of a 250fsb overclock. Either way, the ASUS is a much better board.

Well im getting 15-30 fps in bf2 in my setup. So it could be a few thing: ram mobo or psu. I really doubt the psu has anything to do with it and im taking the risk of trying the mobo over the ram. on high settings and no aa or 2x 1024x768.

I just got it and finished installing. Went to 3.6ghz 240fsb with stock cooling. Gonna test 05 as soon as it downloads.

240fsb is a nice little boost.

I'd say that if temps are a bit too high with that stock heat-sink, consider the Tuniq Tower 120, it's one of the best for a P4 CPU and Pentium Ds.

Im clock to 3.5 stable and my ram sais runnuning at 156 and fsp at 233 this is weird. If i put it on ddr 400 in bios instead of "auto" it hangs up. So should i leave it at 3.5 and 4:6 ratio or lower the p4 to 3 and have a 1:1 ratio?
