x1900XTX VS x7900GTX "Debate" - Page 2

I'm sorry, I didn't realize one couldn't re-state information without getting insulted. We're discussing video cards, not having an argument.

And I'd say the 7900GTX is substantialy different than the 7800GTX.
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=1121

According to that, the 7900GT is only slightly slower than the 7800GTX 512, and the 7900GTX is quite a bit better.

the solution is getting 2 7800GTX, 1 7900GTX, 1 X1900XTX...
one 7800GTX will be OC'd and we will compare:
7800GTX - 7900GTX
7800GTX OC - 7900GTX
7800GTX - X1900XTX
7800GTX OC - X1900XTX
7900GTX - X1900XTX
the results will be the only fact!
i say that the 7900GTX will be a bit stronger then the 7800GTX and the 7800GTX OC will be identical!
and non of them will over power the X1900XTX...

xD

Even if the X1900 does beat the 7900GTX, I think we'll all agree that the 7900s will help lower prices, since the performance will be so close, but the price will be so different. Hopefully, it will drive down ATi's prices too.

Oh, so they're crap because they're a good deal. Yeah, that makes sense.

x1900xt of course. 7900 isn't really a notable upgrade for nvidia. They can't beat the pixels shaders of the x1900xtx--perfect for Elder scrolls Oblivion due out this month

Omri, it has been stated in many threads before this that the 7900gt will perform on the same level as the 7800gtx 256, it has the same number of pipelines and only a slightly higher core clock, but the difference is it will be 350 dollars, the same price 7800gt are going for. reportedly the GTX version will have 32 pixel pipelines and a core speed of about 650, so it should pwn the x1900xtx. Also, even if neither one beats the 1900 at stock, they're 90nm chips, and so they will OC like hell. 7900 all the way
