Black Mamba - Page 5

Yep, I would spend the extra to build one too. It's just so fun to put everything together and see it boot up. You also get to have rights to say "I built my own computer". It's also fun for because I have to do lots of work to afford it (considering that I'm twelve) so it's a good feeling to earn it all myself.

but either way your over 2grand!
Can I poke back in here and be critical of something again? Why a 2TB boot drive? Throw the OS on a raptor or a cheap SSD and use a storage drive for storage, not the whole thing.

i would have put the OS on a ssd but i wouldn't be able to have any other hard drive. so instead i would have been stuck with 1 terabyte but thankfully there was YET ANOTHER deal allowing me to upgrade from 1 terabyte to 2 for free (i literally spent every penny on that computer, and the deal was ending before i would have anymore money to spend)

Gotcha, if you get a disk with it you could always migrate over.

Take pics of what you have and bench the **** out of it!
back on what you said. THANK YOU. this is exactly what i plan on doing man. gonna have benchmarks that show the difference between the stock gpu/overclocked (and hopefully higher voltage) gpu, (the kind of benchmarks i find rare). i really wanna know what kind of speed i should expect out of the cpu though cuz u know im gonna overclock it to the max.

you double posted, also the thing above was valid, build logs are usually people showcasing the building of a rig, also your three year warranty isnt that good, if you look at the right parts you can get lifetime, every single part in my computer has a lifetime warranty

and the price thing is valid, everyone is using newegg, with a little digging you can get ALOT cheaper then newegg

thanks for failing at bashing me for saving a ton of money bud. i'd rather have an "anything goes wrong we fix it warranty" then a "we'll give you a replacement for a few years" (most parts aren't lifetime lol). but go ahead and tell me you can get "ALOT cheaper then newegg" cuz i already know and i already did it. thanks for trying to derail back in to an argument that had ended in the first place with "no way putting together the pc is 10 times more important then actually being able to use it" which in my case would have been literally buy it now or get WAY LESS with buying separate parts. although i challenge you to beat my price, i'm sure you'll do what the last guy did and not include half of the expenses, realize your mistake and then just say "well gee gosh i sure do like doin it mah'self then savin about 600 bucks"

once again. the argument was over, but your on some kind of a mission, to accomplish nothing, and i'm just trying to post a thread on the build, and give updates/benchmarks on what it does after it arrives. i'm all about substance and logic, i've yet to see that used against me successfully.

and by the way, the savings went up again: i added a second watercooled gtx 480 for 560 bucks. thats $649.99 or more retail.

You did get a good deal on the computer, but as everyone else has said, there is nothing like the satisfaction of building your own computer and booting it up. I wouldn't have it any other way. Pre-built just doesn't feel right. Also, I'm not sure if you really needed a second GTX 480. It's not exactly necessary.

There is also the fact that when you build your own computer, you know it inside and out. When you get a pre-built, you may not know it as well and may have trouble adding parts in or doing other things.
