There is also the fact that when you build your own computer, you know it inside and out. When you get a pre-built, you may not know it as well and may have trouble adding parts in or doing other things.
i understand that and i would have built it myself if there was no significant price difference. but at this point its costing me $2438 (after adding the second card) for a 3.1 grand setup. i'm happy with the fact that this isn't alienware and they give me a real case that i've researched a lot. the sense of mystery i don't like is true with the watercooling setup. but if worst comes to worst i can switch in some higher cfm fans on the radiator. but either way i hope that people could come to terms with the fact that it's not a gateway, hp, dell or even alienware. it's just the same thing that i could go out and build with cyberpower engraved on the front and for $600 less. but either way i actually wanted to put in substantial things not just show pictures of the build in progress (which i think is boring and hell and thats why i don't care for much of the build threads i see)

Why the heck are you on this forum? This is for people who want to share what they're doing to their computer. It's not for people who say "I think build logs are hella boring". Do you not realize that a good amount of people joined this forum to see other people's builds? It's fine to not like them, but posting that they're boring as hell shows that that you aren't really what a member here should be like. Sorry, but it's true.

Edit: About the warranty thing, actually lots of parts have a lifetime warranty. Almost all of evga's products have lifetime warrantys, so that's your motherboard, and gpu. Lots of corsair's products have a lifetime, so that's your case, memory, and psu. Pretty much every major component can have a lifetime warranty. Also, if something goes wrong on your computer, you have to ship the whole thing back, while if you made one, they will sent you a replacement and you just pop out the old part, and put in the new one.

Hey guys, just updated the monitor. The big day's gonna be mid August probably the 17th or 18th when I get to first set up the system and the monitor. Reason for that: out of town till the 16th even though the monitor will get to my house between tomorrow and the beginning of august, where as the system itself will arrive at my house shortly before I do (even though I purchased it July 3rd (sadly the liquid cooling system was back-ordered). Lucky I have family at home to pick it up.

Subscribe to this thread for updates everyone, and start posting requests guys. I currently have all the core hardware I need after purchasing the monitor. My game's will include GTA IV, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, Mass Effect 2, Just Cause 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Half Life 2, World of Warcraft, Crysis Warhead, Farcry 2, Dirt 2, Rome Total War, Medieval 2 Total War, Napolean Total War, Command and Conquer Red Alert 3, Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath, Starcraft (2 soon), Warcraft 3, Sins of a Solar Empire and other some other good games I can't think of (because I'm not home lol). So I'm just looking for feedback on the hardware setup, requests for tests/benchmarks, and any other questions/concerns. But my question to you guys is, what should the next hardware upgrade be?

pics or it isnt happening...

another reason why building is better. you can show off HOW you built it.

epic savings though.

The monitor I ordered was no longer in stock so they canceled it. I decided instead to go to tigerdirect and get the Asus VG236H 23" 1080p 3d monitor with the nvidia 3d kit for $499.99. Now all I can do is wait for is the for the monitor/pc both to arrive in the next couple weeks.
