You can trip the 2nd PSU by shorting the black and green wires on the 24pin
post #3 of 19

Use the 24pin Connector

Connect the two red circled connections with a bent paperclip or something of the sort.

Just keep in mind to make sure you dont put in the wrong pin or you could wind up frying the PSU. I usually cover the paperclip in electrical tape so it doesn't touch anything else as a precaution.

Let me know how it turns out.

i think we need a better method. who wants to open up case and use paper clip every time? it just doesn't seem very...modern.

not trying to bash. this is great knowledge. i didn't know the psu were started by shorting pins.

I recommend just using a Dual PSU 24-Pin Adapter Cable:

Dont buy this.. Just buy 1 foot of green wire and back wire (18 AWG) and 2 ATX Pins. And make this mod your self.. not worth 10 bucks..
