Hey guys I am having trouble with my 6800 GS and I need to know 1.What is a good enough core speed to play games at max settings. 2.What are the highest temps I should be at safely. 3.If I Need to get a better cooler for my video card at 67. C because I dont know If that is a good or bad temperature for it. I allready have my 6800 GS running at 500MHz core speed and 1215MHz Memory speed. and my temps are 36.C Idle and 67.C 100% Load. I want to be able to run BW2, COD2, FEAR, BF2, COD, HL2, FC, and other intense games on pretty high settings. Oh ya i have no artifacts on ati tool .

You should be able to play them at high right now as it is. Have you tried it?

Well Ican run those games at max or near max just fine clocking in at 450/1.13. As for temps ya I got mine a bit warm and I'm looking into new cooling That temp is pretty good. Ideling like now I'm running about 60c core and 44c ambient and pulling quick fixes like opening as many holes as I can (I pulled the covers for all my empty drive slots and all the pci cover plates in the back)

i would try to stay under 70C, the clocks are good enough to play at max settings or close to as others have said, and maybe you should invest in a new cooler such as the arctic silencer 5 rev.3 or the zalman vf700...

if you get a new cooler, then you can mod the bios to put more voltage to the core to allow even higher clocks... but you will definatley need better cooling

id keep it at 500/1200 untill you get better cooling, both of the coolers i mentioned are are about $30 on newegg, so pick one up then clock higher, and maybe do the bios mod and you may hit 560/1200+
