Raid-0 vs. AHCI

Does raid-0 support AHCI, in my bios i have the choice of using ide, raid, achi. i couldn't setup an array in Ahci mode only raid mode to setup my array. Can i setup an array in achi mode?

what i'm doing is working on the best performance i can get out of my raid-0 setup. look at my rig profile for info.

RAID is a superset of AHCI mode.

No, you cannot set up an array using that as your RAID controller without being in RAID mode. Being in RAID mode, you have AHCI as well.

Generally speaking, RAID and AHCI are 2 different things

RAID is an Array (where multiple drives appear as one drive)
AHCI is an upgraded way of the Motherboard/Drivers/OS talking to the drive.

So AHCI gets you better power management and Native Command Queuing mainly
(also Hot swap on some chipsets)

RAID gets you either better sequential performance (in RAID-0) or better drive availability (RAID-1 etc)
