One consideration with that motherboard is it tends to have a horrible voltage droop. That equals less stability at high clocks. Yes you can hit an HTT in excess of 300, but you may have to jack the voltage up so high to conteract the droop. Thus limiting your overclock and putting your processor at risk.

I wish I could tell you from practicle experience to get the DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D, but I have just investigated it thoroughly and it seems like a homerun. Ste indicated that he/she has had a great experience with the board and that is consistent with what I have learned about the board. I should be getting mine the end of this week and if you are still deciding I will post about it.

If I did not need the ability to adjust the vdimm to 3.2 volts I would probably go with the Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe. Every high end computer manufacturer such as Alienware, Falcon Northwest, etc. uses this board in their high end systems. MSI Neo-4 boards are highly recommended by Overclock members as well.

I have a closed case so the yellow color will not bother me.

Just research it and find the best solution to your needs, but it seems you can never go wrong with DFI. Good Luck!

I would take the DFi over the MSI anyday. DFi's support is far better, the board is better and the site navigability is far superior.

I don't think that is the one Ste is talking about, that board has been out since last October. It seems from the Newegg reviews that the Crossfire board has some issues, nothing major but a pain none-the-less. Perhaps the board Ste is talking about is a MSI board, and as far as I can tell there is no Neo4 Crossfire only a Neo2 available.

No, it was the RD580 chipset that I meant. Sun has posted quite a few reviews on it from different manufacturers: http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...ht=ati+chipset

So would your recommend that our "DNA fan", , go for the DFI he/she refered to, or should Double Helix wait for the RD580 chipset to come out and develop before he/she takes the Crossfire plunge? I do not know of a good Crossfire board right now, do you?

Personally, I'd go for the Ultra-D as I've got no intention of going Crossfire. If Crossfire is a possibility in the future, definitely consider one of the new Crossfire boards.

The Asus board is out now btw, not sure about the others as I've not really been keeping a close eye on them.

im not really thinking about crossfire. i just thought that it could be handy maybe, like in the future. i really dont want SLi, im getting an x1800xt hopefully. so i guess the standard DFI NF4 ultra D. i really dont know if there are any crossfire boards that are good overclockers. I quite like the look of this: link, since its a DFI and Xfire...dunno. Any thoughts? I gues s it doesnt have to be an AMAZING overclocker, just has to lay the gaming power on thick.
