Dual Channel DDR2-667

Thread Starter
Hey can you guys tell me what the difference is between running 2x512 ddr2-667 as regular or as dual channel? Like, what specifically do you gain by running memory as dual channel? And how do you get to that CPU-Z thing on your computer where it shows you all the frequencies and speeds that your memory, cpu, etc is running at? Because I went into Bios and I'm not even sure where to go to begin overclocking. Sorry I'm REALLY new to this stuff.

Well, it will run in dual channel when you have it plugged in slots 1 and 3 or 2 and 4, but when you have it in slots 1,2 or 3,4 then it obviously will not. The benefit is faster data transfer as it is able to go through two channes as opposed to one (DDR).
