the added 256MB Bus helps greatly when running AA and AF

those eVGA 7900's are sold out here's the next best XFX 520/1500 $310 shipped that are still available

System Specs:
- DFI LANParty NF4 Expert
- Opteron 146
- 2 x 1GB OCZ Gold Edition PC4000
- EIDE Maxtor 200GB DiamondMax
- Dell 2405FPW
- Windows XP

Special Notes:
- Driver Version 8.3.9.1 (This is what came with the card)
- Test resolution 1024x768 @ 32 bit (only res available for tests in basic version)
- Desktop resolution 1920x1200 @ 32 bit
- Set AA to Application Controlled
- Set AF to Application Controlled
- Set Image Settings to High Performance
- Set all other settings to either Off or lowest setting
- No hardware mods used on the video card
- No software mods or tweaks used on the BIOS, core or memory on the video card.

I used NVTray/NVTweak (http://nvtweak.laptopvideo2go.com/) to OC the video card in Windows Display Properties. I used the Detect Optimal Frequencies option. Then I scaled the core & memory speeds back 5-10MHz to ensure stable testing. That's all I did.

This card, and I believe most other 7900 GTs, have excellent OC potential. I sold my 7800GTX 512 and got this card for $300 (now they're selling for $350).

Here are some things I may do in the future:

BIOS mods
http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...wcat/catid,13/

Volt mods (GTX uses 1.4V while the GT only gets 1.2V)

If I'm not mistaken that's not how SLI works. In SLI mode the total effective memory is still 256, if you have two 256MB cards. Each card alternates drawing a scan line on-screen.

Thanks! You know people will ask more questions or doubt you if you just post a number without any backup. So, I was just thinking ahead. I also took screenshots just in case.

I was thinking of getting the GTX but didn't need the performance for the price. It makes more sense, for my situation, to wait for the G80.

My system and GT needs to be 'unleashed' but I don't have much time for gaming - much less tweaking. Just look at my name and you'll know why...
