RAPAGE Workstation build

Thread Starter
My neighbor owns an architectural firm(and his brother owns a landscaping business) and he is having 4 or 5 of these built. The landscaping rig will have a 465(flashed to a 470 ).

I get to overclock the crap out of them, but it's limited to the H50 because they don't want to maintain a real water loop.

Suggestions? I'd like to have a case that is good at keeping dust out. Side windows are fine.

Who wants to get me a bunch of #687 i7 930s from micro center?

Woah, he's getting several of these? Looks good, but might want to get a workstation card if it's a workstation. Also might want to go with ati for less power and heat.

I'm just curious...should the subject be "rampage", or did you really mean "rapage"?

Good luck with your army of super-workstations.

Suggestions for a better case? They like the idea of having a side window, and I'll be installing 12" WHITE cathodes. I'm working on a custom air filter to install on the 120mm fans that are easily changeable.

The SSD I picked out has a Sandforce SF-1200

ATI is fail for workstations. FAIL!!! Audodesk software is optimized for NVIDIA, period. The "workstation" series for NVIDIA is overpriced. I'll experiment flashing the 470's BIOS to a Quadro. But for now, any 470/480 does absolutely fine in Audodesk.

You really had to bring heat and power into this thread??? Each office is cooled by its own Carrier unit.

I did put in the Seasonic PSU because it is 80 gold certified. It's 87% efficient at 0-40% load, 90% efficient at 50% load, and 87% efficient up to full load.

Yes, I meant RAPAGE!!!

sidenote: I have nothing against ATI. The cards are superior for gaming(minus the tessellation argument). But these computers are built for AutoCAD etc. The reason I have a 470 is AutoCAD and the c++ plugin in visual studio.
