Hey, been here not too long now and I tried searching for this idea, but to no avail.

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with building your own air conditioning unit.

To be more precise, just a bunch of copper tubing, a bucket of water, and an oscillating fan.

It's still winter here in NJ, and today it was 70 degrees (F). I only loathe what the summer brings. No AC here either. Looking fora cheap solution.

Anyone ever tried this sort of thing? It doesn't seem too hard.

EDIT: quote from the bottom of the page I liked....

"I realise small air conditioners are quite cheap. But then you don't get to build anything!"

My girlfriend will have none of this. I guess in order to prove I'm not being cheap, I'll have to get the window unit and build this as well....
