7900GT vs 7800GT

Thread Starter
Ok now its obvious there are more pipelines and memory and speed. But the question I have is there any new technology in the card. I'm just thinking like pixelshader versions or DX versions, how one version to the next can kill a card. Cause if there is no huge differance I will probally just stay w/ my 7800GT.

Stay w/ the 7800GT, but if you were to get a new card, the 7900GT would be an awesome choice. They're faster then the 7800GTX! But then there's the 7900GTX *drool*.

the 7900's are nothing more then a die shrink and architecture tweak, going from 110nm to 90nm is pretty much the only difference along with clockspeeds.

Lower temps and better FPS's than a G70 GTX, it will be an obvios upgrade. if you get 2 7900GT's you'll out perform 1 G71 GTX with full AA and AF.

Your 2 7800GT's will out perform 1 7900GT, but if you can sell those 2 7800GT's for $200 a piece you'll only have to spend $200 for 2 7900GT's which is better than 1 7900GTX

If you cant throw down the extra $200 then I wouldnt upgrade
