overclocking 3700 Sandy - Page 2

Run a divider like rcantec said, you might not be able to run DDR500 with the low DIMM voltage, the Gold Edition OCZ's like a lot of volts, drop the divider to 333MHz and you should be ok and might be able to get a CAS 2 or 2.5

well i think i found PART of my problem,
i was running the memory at 2-3-3-6 when it is rated at 2-3-3-8
so i changed it to 2-3-3-8 and i can get 2 mins stable on prime, still unaccteptable, idk what else to do!

Set your ram to 2.5-3-3-7 and see if that fixes the problem. If it does. then set the overclock to default settings and the ram to SPD. Download Memtest86 v3.2. Create a boot cd from the Memtest Image and run it from a boot.

http://www.memtest86.com/#download0

If you are error free then begin your overclock again without touching the dram. Set it at SPD and begin the overclock/testing anew. Once you have the CPU at your limit then you can begin to tighten up the Dram. Once you are instable on the dram you can decide whether it works at the ratings or not. If not then you can decide on RMA.

Edit: Typo

go run memtest for now, if you get 10 passes for both #5 and #8, then your memory clock is good and you have to lower htt and work with ram divider. if it failed memtest86+, then fix the memory clock first. it will isolate the problem.

and you can go OCZ forum to find a prime stable timing for your memory...
