windows processes

Thread Starter
every time i start up my comp and enter the task manager the processes called "services.exe" and "svchost.exe" are eating up my CPU. i like to play my games using 100% of my CPU but im having a problem playing Diablo 2, i find that to be a very serious issue. im not very educated in windows programming so if you could just talk slow and use little words you might be able to help me . thank you.

Well the proceeses you named above are normal processes windows actually need. If you think it could be a virus or spyware which it could be download the following..there free so dont worry

1.Spybot search and destroy
2.Ad-aware
3.Windows antispyware/ Windows defender

For anti virus get :

1.AVG free anti-virus
2.Avast

Yes i forgot to mention that, Scanning i safe mode may enable you to pick up and destroy some threats as in normal windows a threat for instance will be running a process and windows may not let you delete it.

You can check out what each process is doing from svchost by using the cmd option in run. While in cmd, type "tasklist /svc" and you can see each program. This might identify any unknown programs which could be viruses. Give it a shot.
