Overclocking help needed...

Hi all!

Please see my rig in my sig for all your needed details (also note that I will be having another 2GB matching ram coming soon).

Basically, I cant seem to get the ram going fast.... Currently to match the CPU overclock, its matched with DDR333 and running at about DDR393 which isnt exactly perfect. My "FSB" is set to 235 to give 235x10 = 2350 for CPU. Reviews on the internet show the ram should get up to speeds like DDR480 or so, but I cant get mine to run at DDR440.

Whats the best ram setup for this sort of speed? Its currently on 2.5-3-3-7-1T (to move to 2T when get 4GB total).

All help gratefully received!

My OCZ doesn't like to go very high either. I had to run a divider and set the ram to DDR 333. When I was done OC'ing I had 2.805GHz (255x11) and my ram was sitting around 203MHz.

I think OZC is very nice ram but for overclocking I should have went with something else like PC4000.

The only way I was able to get my ram on a 1:1 with the cpu was by loosening the timmings to 3-3-4-8 which I think is horrible and then it ended up not being stable.

Good luck!

EDIT: How do you like that MSI board? I had debating on getting one when I was shopping for a board.

Thanks for the help, wish I knew how others got theirs to go so fast. As needs be when the other ram comes along it needs to be set to DDR333, so I guess it wont get much fast anyhow!

About the mobo, when I got it, the northbridge fan was horrendously loud, and of course, you dont find this out until its in the case (well, I didnt!) and so had to take it out... suppliers had issues with stock so i didnt send it back and instead got a zalman silent northbridge cooler on it - great! but then the gfx card hit it so i needed to remove a few fins. Not been overly impressed by the overclockingness, people seem to get their X2 3800+s much higher than I do, and as I've mentioned, get their ram to match... Other than that its fine !
